Q&A session with Dibyendu

What is your favourite location for taking pictures and why?

"A wetland near my home town named "CHATLA" is my favourite photography location, because there are so many elements with which I can compose my landscapes. During July to November, this place also produces extremely colorful sky which I never find in other places; another location I would like to mention is "Meghalaya", I visit it 2/3 times every year during monsoon to cover the beautiful waterfalls there."

What is your greatest achievement in Photography?

"Apart from the various awards, I consider two of my interviews that are published in India's two prestigious and popular photography magazine as my top achievements. But, to be honest my greatest achievement is definitely to become a Global Ambassador for world's best filter co. H&Y."

What style of Photography do you specialise in most?

"Obviously landscape photography is always my most prioritized genre but I like to shoot travel portraits using natural light as well. I also started wildlife photography recently."

What is your favourite camera or lens and why?

"As I am a landscape photographer, my favourite lens is always the Nikkor 16-35mm f/4. I also love to shoot with 14mm Samyang lens."

What is the best picture you have taken using H&Y Filters?

"It was my second visit to this waterfall, in fact I had visited this waterfall three times within a span of 3 weeks, little difficult to reach but I forget the pain after watching the fall from the top. Earlier, I took a shot from close range and tried to keep the entire waterfall in the frame and also tried to not include any figure for scale. But this time I tried to shoot it differently. This time, I composed the waterfall from a distance and also wanted to keep the surroundings as much as possible to give the feel of the place. I also included a figure (the Phea Phea Girl) to show the scale. I used H&Y Polarizer to cut down the reflection and also used ND64 to smooth out effect of the waterfall. I used a focal length of 18mm so that I could cover more areas on both side, kept the aperture value F/8 for maximum sharpness from the foreground to the background and I set the shutter speed at 2 seconds so that I can capture the exquisite motion of the fall."
